Today, was a well rounded day I would have to say. A 40 year old with a new Mr. Right, unfortunately didn’t use protection last night. What a price to pay for a night in the hay, having to tell someone they have gonnorrhea and calamydia is a price one has to pay.
Another young man, and a trip to mexicali, had pain in his chest and pain in his belly. His diastolic pressure was sky hi, denied drugs and alcohol, although I hated to pry. A skeptic I am I was unfortunately proved right, when I sent him for a myriad of labs, looked like he had been partying a bit too hard the previous night. How do you tell someone that they aren’t telling you the whole story. At least this young man came out in a hurry.
Another young man with a break in his hand, a slew of physicals and parents with little time on their hands. Lots of cholesterol, and pressure to match. Too many hamburgers going down the hatch. A million calls and papers on my desk, with so much going on it is hard to catch my breath. I have to say at the end of the day, when the night is late and the pay aint great. The simple knowledge that today I made a difference, is all I need to give this day a true and meaningful sense of purpose!
