As we prepare to leave the Oregon coast and head back home I am sad.
This time more than others I am aware of the change that time brings.
How our children have grown, how our parents take on years, and the finality of life.
It it not a sad realization but a gentle reminder that it is important to embrace each passing moment… The good ones and the bad.
As we pack up the car and head out it marks the end of the summer, the beginning of a new season and the start of school for our five year old daughter.
How strange it will be to see her head out to school.
These are reminders that all things change, change is the natural progression of life, we may not always like the change but it is change nonetheless. And without it life would be a revolving monotony of comfort without the push that change provokes.
As we hit the road back to Santa Cruz, I feel refreshed, ready to take on “life” and enjoy the upcoming year!
My jog this morning with the sunrise breaking through “Twin Rocks” didn’t hurt much either!
