As a man it is hard to find good role models these days. Well at least when it comes to politics.
The Actions of Anthony Weiner, Bill Clinton, Arnold Schwarzenegger and John Edwards are not as damaging to the country as they are to their families and the ones that love them and believe in them.
But, it is nice to have role models. Successful people we can look up to and say:
“Son being a man and a father is about loving not just God and Country, but your family”.
True love means acting out of respect, and admiration for the ones you love.
Actions that fall out of these boundaries reflect greatly on a person. This is why we find them so despicable. It is a sign of greed and selfishness, it is an indication that one cares more about their own feelings and is willing to disregard the feelings of those whom they should protect.
Barack, celebrates fatherhood today. He is a role model for me. Please Barack don’t father a lovechild!
Dad says
Stephen you make me so proud to be your dad. You hit the nail on the head.
Stephen Pasquini says
That’s because my dad taught me how to be a great dad!

I didn’t respond to this earlier and I’m not sure why. You’ve hit on the real problem with families and it has nothing to do with gay marriage, but with the bad example mothers and fathers give to their children. The Rs love to talk about the sanctitiy of marriage while serving as bad examples to their children. Jesus talked about divoce, but never mentioned gays or abortion, yet, the R’s love to ignore this fact because it doesn’t suit their purposes. President Obama is a good example and in time it will make a big difference in his presidency as people realize it.

Yes,
Where else can we get our examples of how a loving couple should work. So much for the nuclear family, at least in the peaceful form of the word “nuclear”!

Yes…It’s nice to know that we have a loving, loyal family in the White House….Both Barack and Michelle are a couple to be admired….Thanks to the Obama’s! America needed that!
