Dear Governor, My name is Stephen Pasquini, I am a physician assistant working in central California. Every day I must help patients decide between food and housing or very necessary health care services. I am reaching the end of my rope as I am fighting an ever growing health care battle. How can we live in the richest country in the world and tolerate such discrepancies? I beg of you to vote yes on the new health care for all initiative as this is the only way we can be assured that this does not continue to happen. If we continue to let this go on, we stand for nothing as either Americans or Californians. What is democracy if such freedom results in day in and day out struggles of work and life, to be demoralized by the lack of ability to care for oneself or their family? We are failing our society, and you will perpetuate this failure if you choose to neglect to recognize the importance of this issue. I believe in you, and your ability to see the immediate importance of this. We cannot wait any longer. Please be a dreamer and create change that will change the course of not only California but the course of this country by actively supporting Senate Bill 840. I can say no more, but I ask that you take a stance, if you choose to ignore this issue I ask then that you come to my little clinic and tell me what you can do to help us out, and look these hard working American Citizens in the face and tell them they don’t “deserve” medical services. Not because they don’t work hard every day, not that they don’ sacrifice for our country, but that based on their birthright they simply are not worthy………!!!
Thank you for your time..
Sincerely,
Stephen J Pasquini PA-C
