Our President makes me continuously ashamed to be an American. I love this country and want to believe that what we stand for is freedom and equality. That we above all hold true that ALL men are created equal and that we will help everyone achieve their God given potential through all means possible. I of course as a health care provider am concerned and personally affected daily by the lack of insurance coverage that most Americans have attained and the unwillingness for government to support a comprehensive program that is not endorsed by special interests. It is the same old rhetoric time and time again. Yes we all have special interests, this term special interest groups is misleading. Why don’t we just say what in this case it really means? “Selfish” interest groups. People and organizations who have declared money the most valuable possession on this here earth and who are willing to sell their sole for the acquisition of this. Let us please not all be sucker punched into believing “Selfish” interest groups are actually special interest groups as there is nothing special or interesting about their interests. Simple greed. Represents poor childhood development I guess, lack of trust in ones neighbor. Possibly a result of not being breastfed as children.
The truth is the President has a chance right now to make a difference in the health of his fellow countrymen and women. A plan backed by both houses of congress and supported by both democrats and Republicans alike, which will most likely be vetoed by our Ass of a president. Why? Because he, like those whom he serves, is part of that selfish interest group. And He will convince you that you are like him, that any other action would be poor for one’s health, while taking health insurance for 4 million kids. Hey, if you are going to take it from adults at least we have had the chance to get this far, and allowed you to screw us repeatedly, Mr. Bush it is our fault, but come on the ……..kids???…. they didn’t even have a chance to vote.
This brings me to my final point. I am reading Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince; I just got to the good part where the author reveals the secrets behind Lord Valdemorts past. He was an outcast, a loner, he had been abandoned by his mom, and his dad, and he had special powers to do extraordinary things but realized at a very young age that he could control these powers. He chose to hurt people, control people with these powers; he is called the “Dark Lord”. Welcome to the club Mr. Bush, you and Valdemort share a common bond. Unfortunately nobody will ever write a good book or make a good movie about you, well except Michael More, and well, enough said…. Although I wouldn’t be surprised in the future if you are referred to as “he who cannot be named”.. now this does seem fitting.

I love this. “Selfish Interest Groups” Haven’t heard that one before. And you’re reading fiction. What’s happening? Don’t forget to read The Life of Pi. You’ll love the philosophy of it. Says a lot about life and self interest. There will always be people to say nice tings about Bush so they can promote their own agenda. That’s what they’ve done with Reagan. The big difference was that Reagan at least appeared to care. But this all began with him and has continued to the present day.
