Ida Shiplet died on Easter Sunday, the day before I returned home. She managed to beat bone cancer a number of times before it suddenly, after being in remission, came back with a vengeance, killing her in just over a week. I left home on Wednesday the 21st and headed to Reno to have my new novel, Consequences, reviewed by my friend and editor. We spent the weekend on the beach, We biked and I was on the scooter. We laughed and giggled and played with bare naked tummies. It was great being a dad!
