I left home on Wednesday the 21st and headed to Reno to have my new novel, Consequences, reviewed by my friend and editor. I’ve been on a diet and Wednesday was my cheat day where I can eat anything I want and was proud of myself when I passed up the all you can eat pizza at Roundtable. That would have never happened in the past.
Exchanged the radio controlled helicopter I bought for a new one. I can’t get it to work either. Had dinner with my editor friend and her husband at the house of a couple who lives just down the street from me and has a house in where I live and in Reno. They are up on a hill and have a view of the lights of Reno. It was awesome. Houses are selling for a good prices. May have to work out a trade. They are Jews and we lit three candles for the third day of Hanuka, The Feast of Lights.
Headed to my hometown on Thursday and had a busy day. Had lunch with two of my former track athletes. Then had a small meal with two of my special education students at Hometown Buffet, and then had dinner with two of my Vietnamese students who are now married and have 2 boys and a girl. Hard to believe. (There daughter was born two days before Lucca, my grandson) Was wonderful seeing all of them and knowing that I meant something in their life. Stayed overnight at the Vietnamese family’s house. It is huge and is at the far end of town. They own a couple furniture stores. Both were excellent students.
Had a great Christmas with the Pasquini, Brown, and Novak families. Layla is now four and Lucca is going on two. Stephen is always posting pictures so there’s no need to do so now, although I did take some video and will post it later.
