Today we got our first Christmas tree for our new house. They had the most wonderful Christmas tree farm off empire grade road by the University. We found the perfect tree!!!! it may be just a tid bit big, but hey when is bigger ever not better? It was nice to get out of the house and do something outside with nature, I realized it had been a while. I also found that with all the junk we continue to accumulate, those things that make me the most happy usually are the simplest. Fresh air, nature, and the love and companionship of my family. I have been going through a lot the past couple weeks, trying to wrap my mind around all the changes. I find myself at times wrestles. Thank God for my loving and patient wife for whom without I would be truly lost. Layla is lucky to have this wonderful mom!!! As am I… This week is going to be a good one on the ocean front. Today I took an afternoon paddle to good ol’ Cowell beach. It was just me, the pounding winter surf, and 12 other peace seekers. It was like a dream come true, and as the sun set over the Westside Cliff, all I could do was soak up the sun and be reminded truly how blessed I am to have this moment.

Loved your tree and having breakfast despite the walk. Just the right size for the house. You are blessed that Wendy is so cheerful and patient.
